Back then, when my father offered him a promotion and a raise, he refused, blushing.

All he asked for was for me to bring him meals at the hospital while he recovered.

I was touched by his bravery and his down-to-earth nature.

We soon fell in love, and eventually, we had Belle, our daughter.

But the love I thought was unshakable became a joke the moment Luna appeared.

I snatched the signed divorce papers back from him.

Just then, a message from Sean came through.

"I've found a medical team that can treat Belle! They've landed and are on their way to the hospital now!"

My heart leapt with hope. I had no desire to stay here any longer, so I rushed out right away.

But as I reached the building's lobby, Victor blocked my path.

His eyes were bloodshot with rage. He roared at me, "Ivy! You vicious woman! Even on your way out, you still hurt Luna!"

I was confused, but I had no time for his drama. I tried to push past him, but he grabbed me and forced me into his car.

He took me back to the hospital and, using his authority as CEO, commanded all the specialist doctors, including the newly arrived international team, to attend to Luna, who had supposedly fainted.

My pupils shrank suddenly.

I shouted at him, "Those doctors are for Belle! You can't take them away!"

Yet Victor saw nothing wrong, instead, he went on issuing commands with a dark scowl.

I watched in horror as the doctors, with their medical kits, walked away from my daughter's room. I was trapped in the patient’s room, powerless.

Belle was critical. She couldn't wait another minute.

Gritting my teeth, I dropped to my knees in front of Victor.

My eyes blazing red, I locked eyes with him and rasped, "Victor! Do what you want to me! But Belle is your own daughter! You shouldn't put her life at risk just for an intern!"

The cold-hearted man didn't even glance at me.

His eyes remained fixed on Luna.

"Belle's illness has been going on for so long and shows no sign of improvement! It won't get better anytime soon! Sending the doctors to her will be a complete waste of time!"

I listened, unable to believe the words coming from his mouth.

I remembered when Belle was born, he couldn't put her down, promising to spoil her, to let her grow up happy and carefree.

Now, just a few years later, he had forgotten his own vows.

I sank my teeth into the arm of the bodyguard holding me.

He yelped in pain and let me go.

I dashed towards Belle's ward room, but at the door, another guard grabbed my wrist.

Through the window, I saw Belle, deathly pale on the bed, her breathing so faint it might stop any second.

I cried, "Let me go! Let me be with my daughter!"

The guard dragged me away, his face impassive. He muttered coldly, "I'm sorry, Ma'am. Luna fainted from anemia. Mr. Granger demanded you provide a blood transfusion for her immediately."

Hearing this, I looked at this stranger who frightened me with his coldness. I felt all the color drain from my face.

As the needle pierced my skin, I felt a strange sense of relief.

I croaked faintly, "Once I give her my blood, you'll let me and Belle go. Right?"

He pressed his lips together, watching the blood flow, and gave a slow, single nod.

I slumped weakly.

Just then,Sean burst through the door.

He drove his fist squarely into Victor's face.

Victor roared at him, "You pathetic clown! How dare you throw your weight around in front of my wife and daughter!"
