My name was Oliver Myers. In my past life, my wife, Megan Myers, overworked herself and suffered a sudden cerebral infarction, which took her life.

By the time I rushed back from my business trip, Megan had already been sent into the cremation furnace.

Grief consumed me. Before her body was even laid to rest, I was informed that Megan had transferred all the project funds of our company overseas right before she passed away.

I was sued by all our business partners and ended up in prison for 12 years.

When I finally got out, I was a broken man, covered in physical and emotional scars. To make ends meet, I had no choice but to take up a job as a delivery guy.

One day, I saw Megan, who was supposed to have died, living in a luxurious villa, looking all glamorous and with a daughter by her side.

When she recognized me, she let out a couple of giggles and tipped me 88 dollars.

"It's so hot out there. You've really worked hard," she said.

Years of humiliation had taken a toll on my health. I was so enraged that I fainted right at her doorstep.

Due to the delayed medical treatment, I died on the very day I reunited with her.

But then, fate took a turn. I was given a second chance and was reborn on the day Megan suffered that fateful cerebral infarction.

*****

After hanging up the phone, I glanced at the familiar date and pinched my thigh hard. Only then did I realize that I had truly been reborn.

Upon learning that Megan was in the hospital, fighting for her life after the cerebral infarction, I immediately cut my meeting short and bought the earliest flight back.

Before the plane took off, I called Megan's younger brother, Nathan Fox, and told him to wait for me before cremating her body.

Nathan stammered on the phone, hesitating to say something.

In my past life, when I rushed back, I was told that Megan was already in the cremation furnace. I didn't even get to see her body.

As soon as I landed, I rushed to confirm the situation, only to be told that Megan had passed away an hour ago and her body was already at the crematorium.

I pleaded with them repeatedly, "Wait for me to sign. I want to see her one last time."

They said they'd wait, but when I got there, I was told that the body had to be cremated right after the hearse delivered itper procedure.

I was furious and asked, "Who made this rule? I'm her husband! I haven't even signed. Why can't you wait?"

Seeing my anger, Nathan quickly pulled me aside and explained, "Mom and Dad have already informed all our relatives and friends. It's so hot outside. You can't keep them waiting for too long. It's better to get it over with quickly."

I let out a cold snort and insisted on getting to the bottom of it.

The relatives and friends quickly held me back and dissuaded me as they said, "Oliver, just let it go. Let Megan rest in peace. Don't make a scene."

They were telling me not to make a scene? I was so angry that my fists tightened until the veins popped out.

Nathan quickly pulled me aside again and comforted me, "Oliver, I'm sorry for your loss. Megan was beyond saving when she was sent to the hospital."

Looking at his seemingly sorrowful face, I demanded an answer, pressing, "I just want to know why you signed the papers without waiting for me?"

Nathan lowered his head and mumbled, "We were just too grief-stricken. We didn't think it through. We thought it'd take you some time to get back."

Too grief-stricken? I couldn't help but let out a bitter laugh.

In my past life, how grief-stricken was I? I hugged Megan's urn and knelt on the ground, crying until I couldn't breathe.

I called out her name over and over again in the rain, asking why she had left me.

Then I fainted in the cemetery.

After that, I fell seriously ill and was unconscious for days.

When I finally woke up, our business partners surrounded my hospital bed and told me that Megan had transferred all the funds to an overseas account before she died.

In no time, our company went bankrupt. I was sued and sentenced to 12 years in prison.

In prison, I was put in the same cell as the prison bullies. They beat me up day and night whenever they were in a bad mood.

When I got out, I was diagnosed with advanced stomach and bone cancer.

To survive a little longer, I became a delivery guy.

It was only when I saw Megan in that luxurious villa, playing with her daughter, that I realized it was all a scam.

When Megan recognized me, she showed no sign of panic.

What was more, she even took out her phone and gave me an 88-dollar tip, saying, "Long time no see. The sight of you just turns my stomach!"

Finally, I fainted at her doorstep out of anger.

She thought I was a bad omen and just walked away. It was the maid who called the ambulance.

By the time I was sent to the hospital, I had lost the will to live.

Thinking of all this, I clenched my fists tightly and made a firm resolve.

All the pain she inflicted on me in the past life, I'd make her pay back a hundredfold, a thousandfold!
