"Alpha, what's wrong?" Yolanda asked with concern.
Yash shook his head. "I'm fine. I just have this unsettling feeling."
He glanced at the darkening sky outside.
Even now, the physical and spiritual pain repeatedly reminded him that this was a sign of the mate bond breaking.
Yet he still believed Mia was just playing a prank on him. How could a woman who loved him so deeply sever their mate bond without a word?
After resting for an hour, Yash's healing abilities kicked in, helping him recover from the sharp pain.
Through the intricately designed glass tiles, he noticed that the outside world had turned completely dark. He had been with Yolanda for three hours.
But a persistent ache continued to throb in his chest, prompting Yash to suddenly release Yolanda's hand.
"I need to go back. Mia is waiting for me at home."
With that, he grabbed his suit jacket and stood up.
Yolanda's expression changed, and she quickly grabbed his arm. "Alpha, you promised to stay with me tonight. Sean has already been sent to his teacher's place. What's the rush?"
Yash didn't know why, but the pain in his heart felt like a guiding hand from the Moon Goddess.
For the past few years, he had been focused on strengthening the pack, often staying out late.
Mia never complained or threw tantrums. Instead, she quietly did what a Luna should, offering gentle reminders to take care of himself, eat well, and drink less.
He had always taken her thoughtfulness for granted. She never fussed, never questioned him, just warmed up a hangover soup for him when he returned at dawn, adding herbs that the elders said were good for the stomach.
Sometimes, when he was troubled by pack affairs, she would silently stand behind him, massaging his shoulders to help him relax, casually saying something that often sparked a brilliant idea in his mind, leading him to the solution.
In every way, Mia was the perfect Luna.
Yet, despite having such a wonderful Luna, he had betrayed her.
Yash suddenly felt a wave of disillusionment.
"Yolanda, I think we should see less of each other from now on. It's not good for either you or Mia."
Yolanda was stunned.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean we should break up. You never had the scent of a mate. Charles never accepted you." He paused. "No one knows about our relationship. You'll always be my savior. You can continue searching for the right man to bond with as mates," said Yash.
"What?" Yolanda was stunned.
Just then, the host's voice echoed from the stage.
The Alpha of the Bloodmoon Pack was on stage with his Luna. It turned out that tonight was their twentieth anniversary of becoming mates.
They had discovered their destined bond at a ball years ago and happily united under the guidance of the Moon Goddess.
So on this significant day, they had organized a ball to celebrate.
Yash watched the couple on stage, unknowingly smiling to himself.
He and Mia would also share many years together.
Charles nudged in his mind, as if dreaming. We'll have a 25th anniversary party, a 50th anniversary party, and we'll invite the whole pack to celebrate!
The large screen behind the stage slowly rose, accompanied by romantic declarations of love, showing the Alpha and Luna of the Bloodmoon Pack holding hands tightly.
But suddenly, the image flickered.
An extremely abrupt video crashed into the audience's view.
It showed Yash and Yolanda tangled together in bed, with suggestive and explicit sounds echoing through the speakers.
"Oh my God! Isn't that the Alpha of the Midnight Pack with the omega who saved his life?"
Yolanda was bewildered, and Yash was frozen in shock, quickly followed by utter panic.
No one knew that the crystal contained not only their innocent moments but also every intimate encounter they had shared over the past three years.
Yash had enjoyed experimenting with different positions in various locations, recording them and hiding them in the crystal. It gave him a thrill, a sense of excitement and tension, as if he were having an affair in broad daylight.
But now...
"Who released this? Turn it off! Turn it off!"
He shouted angrily.
However, no one listened to him. The banquet hall was filled with murmurs and questioning glances directed at him.
"How could the Alpha of the Midnight Pack be involved with a mere omega? Isn't that omega his savior?"
"Oh my God! I heard their Luna was quite kind to this woman. So their gratitude was a facade, but their affair was real!"
"How dare they do this under the Moon Goddess's watchful eye? That's just shameless!"
Yolanda began to panic.
Over these years, she had managed to build a reputation by subtly promoting her heroic deeds within the pack, gaining considerable respect throughout the Werewolf Empire.
Everyone thought she was warm-hearted, brave, and even romanticized her relationship with Yash, lamenting why the Moon Goddess hadn't designated them as destined mates.
But now that it was exposed.
