"Are you saying that Yash knew Yolanda sent you to run me off the road? Did he really want me dead?"

The driver averted his gaze but eventually nodded. "Yes, including the fire in the Affairs Department three years ago. Ms. Meyer saved his life. Since then, she has been by his side as his savior. This was all part of our plan to make you feel grateful to Ms. Meyer. If their relationship ever came to light, they could claim it was understandable."

Mia's face turned pale.

Her body swayed heavily.

So that was it.

The affection they had shared for six years had been a complete ruse. Not only that, but they also intended to keep deceiving her, treating her like a fool!

Mia transformed back into her human form, leaning weakly against the car window. She lowered her gaze slightly and let out a sarcastic laugh.

The driver looked terrified.

After a moment, she lifted her head again, tears glistening in her eyes.

"Do you want to redeem yourself?"

The driver nodded eagerly.

"Good. Then help me with one thing."

She instructed the driver to retrieve a female corpse while she returned to the place she shared with Yash and found his crystal.

Coincidentally, Yash had left the crystal at home today. She quietly placed the crystal in the hotel where they were supposed to go tonight, planning to expose the hypocritical couple in front of everyone.

After all, as the pack's Alpha, Yash was particularly concerned about his reputation. She wanted to see just how devastating this revelation would be for him in such a public setting!

Through the hotel window, she saw Yash dressed as a dashing masked knight, while Yolanda was dressed as Snow White. Even with her face partially obscured, Mia recognized them immediately, watching as they embraced intimately and danced gracefully in the ballroom.

A smirk crossed her lips.

At that moment, the driver approached.

"Luna, everything is ready. What do you want to do?"

He looked anxious.

Mia regarded him and handed him a voice recorder.

"Repeat what you told me tonight."

The driver paused, suddenly realizing something, his face turning white.

"Don't worry. You didn't harm me. It's considered attempted, so I won't send you to prison. But you must admit to your mistakes. At least you were involved in the arson case three years ago, right?"

Three years ago, the Midnight Pack's Affairs Department had caught fire.

In that blaze, someone had tragically died. That was why when Yolanda saved Yash, Mia felt grateful to her.

She couldn't imagine how she would feel if her instructor, who had treated her like family, had entrusted Yash to her, only for him to die in that fire. The guilt would have been unbearable.

But now, everything seemed absurd.

The driver's expression shifted, but ultimately, he took the voice recorder.

Mia made him recount the events, then sealed the recording and called over a comrade from her military days. She instructed him to deliver the recording to major newspapers tonight, including a copy to the Council of Elders.

Tonight was destined to be a sleepless night.

Afterward, she had the driver bring the female corpse into the house and doused the place in gasoline, ensuring that the fire wouldn't affect nearby buildings before igniting it.

As the flames shot up into the sky, Mia looked up at the bright moon and solemnly vowed, "I, Mia Lambert, hereby officially sever my mate bond with Yash Brown and willingly accept all consequences."

At that moment, a sharp pain spread throughout her body, as though her muscles were being torn apart.

Even so, Mia felt no regret.

She knew she had finally ended this misguided mate contract.

Watching the military vehicle approaching to greet her, Mia straightened her back and saluted sharply.

From now on, she would no longer be the Luna of the Shadow Pack but a warrior of the Werewolf Empire, a battle-hardened wolf!

On the other side, at the masquerade ball.

Yash was still dancing with Yolanda when suddenly, Charles let out a piercing wail within him.

The pain felt like countless knives, instantly shredding his consciousness, even making it hard to breathe without tasting blood.

Yash collapsed to the ground, feeling as if his entire body had been corroded by wolf poison, his heart broken.

Charles weakly cried out within him.
