Just then, Yolanda's voice drifted up from downstairs.
"Alpha, didn't you say you would take us to that new restaurant tonight? It's getting late. Hurry and call Luna down."
Yash suddenly remembered his purpose for going upstairs and quickly said, "Get ready. We're leaving soon."
Mia didn't want to argue, so she followed them to the car.
When they arrived, she discovered they had chosen a seafood restaurant.
Sean took her hand. "Mom, the Australian spiny lobsters here are delicious and super fresh. You have to eat a lot tonight!"
Mia's expression turned icy. The fact that she was allergic to seafood had once been the thing Yash worried about the most when they first got married, yet now it was a detail even their child couldn't remember.
These two ingrates don't even remember you can't eat seafood! Alice raged within her. Our choice is indeed the right one!
She said nothing more, merely remaining silent as they took their seats.
Once seated, Yash ordered a plethora of dishes, including salmon and Australian spiny lobsters. Everyone dug in, enjoying the meal, while Mia sat there, not touching her knife and fork, only sipping on her lemon water.
Noticing this, Yolanda took the initiative to say, "Mia, why are you just sitting there? You should eat! This salmon is really good. Come on! Have a taste!"
With that, she placed a piece of salmon on Mia's plate.
Mia replied coldly, "Take it away."
Yolanda was taken aback.
Yash's face darkened immediately.
"Mia, don't be unreasonable! Yolanda is trying to be nice to you. If you don't appreciate it, you shouldn't push her away."
Sean chimed in, "Mom, don't be stubborn! My teacher said we should eat nicely. If you don't like fish, you can have the lobster instead."
With that, he offered her his Australian spiny lobster.
Mia watched this scene, feeling an overwhelming sense of irony.
The boy she had raised with care was now the straw that broke her heart.
She stated each word deliberately, "I'm allergic to seafood. Have you forgotten?"
As soon as she said that, the table fell silent.
She stood up and said coldly, "You all enjoy your meal. I'm leaving."
With that, she turned and walked away without hesitation.
Sean's face turned pale, and Yolanda tugged at Yash's sleeve, whispering, "Alpha, Luna..."
"Just forget it!" Yash said, his face stern. "If she can't eat seafood, she should have said so earlier. Now she's just being dramatic, acting like we wouldn't change restaurants for her."
Despite saying this, his mood was incredibly irritable.
He felt that Mia was somehow different from before.
Meanwhile, Mia returned home.
Looking at the empty house, she didn't feel sorry for herself. Instead, she made a luxurious foie gras rice dish and, after eating, returned to her room to review some materials. She waited until nine o'clock that evening, when she heard the sound of the door opening downstairs. Yash and the others had returned.
Sean came upstairs carefully, holding a takeout box, accompanied by Yolanda.
"Luna, I'm really sorry! We didn't know you were allergic to seafood. If we had known, we would never have taken you to that restaurant."
As she said that, she smiled and had Sean hand her the food they had brought back.
Sean looked at her eagerly. "Mom, this is milk I got for you. Please drink some."
Mia glanced at the box he offered and then at his innocent face, feeling a twinge of softness.
The bond of blood couldn't be severed so easily.
"Just put it down. I'll drink it later."
After saying that, she continued to review her materials.
At that moment, Yolanda suddenly approached her with the bowl of milk. "Mia, Sean brought you the milk. How can you not drink it at all? At least have a few sips, so Sean won't feel bad."
With that, she opened the box and spooned a scoop toward Mia's mouth.
Mia felt a wave of disgust wash over her. Looking at the spoonful of milk, she felt nauseated and instinctively pushed her away. "I said I'm not eating right now."
Unexpectedly, Yolanda stumbled backward, hitting the corner of the bed hard.
"Ah!"
"Ms. Meyer! Ms. Meyer, are you alright?"
Yash rushed over, and the scene before him was shocking. Yolanda lay on the floor, scalding milk spilled all over her, while Sean cried, trying to help her up.
His pupils dilated. "Yolanda?"
Yolanda sobbed, "Alpha, please don't blame Luna. She didn't mean it. I know she's upset. It's my fault for insisting on taking you out for seafood."
Yash's expression changed, and he angrily confronted Mia, shouting, "Mia, how could you be so cruel? Yolanda kindly brought you milk. If you didn't want it, that's one thing, but you actually pushed her! You know she's injured and can't stand steadily!"
Mia coldly watched this scene, seeing Sean wipe his tears and cry, "Mom, you pushed Ms. Meyer! You hurt her on purpose! How could you do that?"
She felt a chill in her heart.
Thank goodness.
Thank goodness she had already decided to leave.
So when that happened to her, she no longer felt the pain.
