Mia took a taxi back to the villa.
At this point, she had half a month before entering the wolf tribe's military base.
There were many matters she needed to handle.
The first was to dissolve her mate contract with Yash.
The mate contract was like an invisible chain. Even thousands of miles apart, one could sense the other's presence. For someone about to conceal her identity, this was a fatal risk.
Although she would have a new identity upon entering the base, completely dissolving the mate contract was the safest option.
Fortunately, the reaction from dissolving a mate contract was akin to the response to the death of one's partner, making faking her death the best method.
But just the thought of still being in a mate contract with Yash made her feel sick. If she was going to leave, she needed to cut all ties completely.
She retrieved the Luna territory contract and transferred it entirely to the pack elders.
She also had the servants dismantle the family photo wall in the living room. It was filled with pictures of her, Yash, and Sean, once treasured but now felt glaring.
She ordered the destruction of those photos and then destroyed all her wedding pictures with Yash!
After completing these tasks, a message came through the mental link.
It was Yash.
His voice came through, frantic, "Mia, hurry to the hospital and apologize to Yolanda!"
Mia was taken aback. "Why should I?"
"Because you refused to accompany Sean rock climbing, Yolanda fell from a 32 ft high cliff and got injured! The doctor said she hurt her toe bone. If it had been any worse, it could have broken."
His tone was accusatory, as if she were the culprit.
Mia curled her lips in a sarcastic smile. A mere toe injury was nothing significant for a healthy omega.
The next moment, she heard Sean's heartbroken voice, "Mom, it's your fault that Ms. Meyer got hurt! I don't want you as my mom anymore! I hate you! I hate you!"
Even though Mia had already decided to leave this father-son duo, hearing her child's piercing words made her heart feel like it was being tightly squeezed. She swayed slightly, feeling unsteady.
She closed her eyes.
Swallowing her pain and bitterness, she replied hoarsely, "Fine, if you don't acknowledge me as your mother, then I don't want you as my son either. Don't come looking for me in the future!"
With that, she unhesitatingly severed the mental link.
Sean was left bewildered, likely not expecting his usually gentle mother to explode like this.
Mia is acting strange. Yash's wolf, Charles, suddenly spoke up. She never dared to act like this before!
Yash's expression shifted slightly, feeling an inexplicable sense of panic, but he quickly attributed it to Mia's sulking. "Don't mind her! Since she wants to sulk, let's spend time with Ms. Meyer and see how long she can hold out!"
Yash was waiting for Mia to come back to him and apologize.
Little did he know that the next day, as soon as Mia woke up, she received a call from the base, informing her of a training facility they had arranged for her in the Midnight Pack.
The current Defense Project was classified as four-star in the secrecy system. As the chief instructor of the Defense Project, Mia was not only responsible for training new recruits but also needed to familiarize herself with various strategies and tactics in advance.
That morning, she entered the base.
Due to her wrist injury, Mia rarely engaged in physical training, but even so, the mental tests alone were enough to daunt an average person.
Yet, Mia felt fulfilled.
Six years ago, she had poured her blood and sweat into strengthening the Werewolf Empire, and now, she felt as if the unstoppable version of herself from six years ago had returned!
That feeling was something she had never experienced during her time as the Luna of the Midnight Pack. She had finally found that familiar version of herself!
She worked tirelessly until nightfall before leaving the training ground.
With a ding, a text message arrived on her phone.
It was from a parent of one of Sean's classmates.
"Luna, you need to check the class group chat. The alpha just added a strange woman, claiming she's Sean's mom! Is he out of his mind?"
Mia opened WhatsApp and saw that Yash had indeed added Yolanda to the class group chat.
Everyone was submitting their homework, and Yash's video prominently featured him, Yolanda, and Sean rock climbing together.
In the video, Yolanda introduced herself warmly, "Hi everyone, I'm Sean's mom. I hope this rock climbing experience will teach Sean to face challenges head-on and not fear difficulties..."
At the end of the video, Sean sweetly called Yolanda Mom.
This jerk just wants to force you to go back to him! Alice scoffed derisively within her.
Just then, her phone rang. It was Yash calling.
"Mia, don't blame me for asking Yolanda for help. It's all your fault for insisting on not accompanying Sean. Since Yolanda got hurt for us, I had to add her to the class group chat. After all, you didn't want to join us, but plenty of others are willing!"
Yash was expecting Mia to go wild, to react like before, hysterically accusing him and crying that she was the real Luna, then humbly begging him to come back.
He had even planned how to respond coldly, how to make her suffer a little more to ease his own inexplicable irritation.
However, this time, Mia simply smiled lightly and said, "Alright, since that's the case, I'll leave the group chat to avoid affecting your performance."
With that, she exited the class group chat.
Yash held his phone, feeling a wave of panic for the first time. It seemed she truly didn't care anymore!
