Zane held Cecilia down in the seat, his voice husky with want,

“Wasn’t I enough for you earlier? I told you not to linger around Scarlett so much.”

Cecilia laughed boldly, her breathing growing ragged as she teased,

“It’s your fault—you never finish inside me. You left me so… unfulfilled.”

“You’re just insatiable. That toy was custom-made to fit me. I’ll give you what you want this time, but remember my rules—don’t you dare make trouble in front of Scarlett again.”

Hidden behind a large tree near the car, Scarlett had already known about Zane and Cecilia, but seeing it with her own eyes made the betrayal cut twice as deep. Tears she hadn’t even noticed began to well in her eyes.

A mate’s infidelity cuts into the soul of the one who remains faithful. Amy, who had only awakened three months ago, was already weakened by his repeated betrayals. The agony tearing through Scarlett’s spirit was likely nothing more than a faint, distant tremor to Zane—barely even noticeable.

The sounds of their intimacy grew louder in her ears.

In her mind, Amy let out a hoarse, furious growl—weak yet venomous, “You are his true Luna! The mate-bond runes are carved into your soul! If he dares betray you, those filthy creatures deserve to be ripped apart!”

Scarlett bit her lip until it hurt. Several times she thought about rushing forward to confront him, but somehow, she couldn’t muster the strength to move.

With trembling hands, she took out her communicator and began recording through the car window.

Time had never felt so slow.

Inside, the moans gradually subsided. She checked the recording—an hour and forty minutes had passed.

But that was only the beginning. Barely ten minutes later, the limited-edition Rolls-Royce began rocking rhythmically once again.

Cecilia’s voice was soft and seductive,

“Alpha, I… I can’t take anymore. But if you really want to, let’s go somewhere else, alright? The flower garden upstairs is so beautiful—you know moonlight roses are my favorite.”

Her tone was sweet, coaxing. Zane brushed off a flicker of guilt, lifted her chin, and chuckled,

“Be good. We’ll stay in the car tonight. Tomorrow I’ll take you to the flower garden.”

The vehicle shook fiercely once again. This time, Scarlett could bear it no longer. She covered her ears, face pale, and turned away.

Back home, her tears had dried, but the ache in her chest remained.

She looked around—every corner of the house was filled with memories of Zane.

On the bookshelf, a photo from their first date. On the display shelf, moonstone cups they had carved together. Totem plaques they painted at the clan market. Every object marked a moment from their past.

On the bedside table was their mate-bond photo, his gaze full of unwavering devotion. In the closet, the ceremonial robe he designed just for her…

Scarlett took off her mate ring and placed it with all those keepsakes. She summoned an omega servant to move everything to the backyard. Finally, she carried the ceremonial robe out herself.

Calmly, she picked up a pair of scissors and began cutting the robe to shreds. Silver scraps littered the grass, reminding her of Zane’s proposal.

That day, the lawn had been covered in fresh moonlight grass. Zane lifted her and spun her around,

“Scarlett, may our bond be as pure as moonlight grass. This one-of-a-kind ceremonial robe is for you—my one and only true love. I want to give you everything best in the world.”

“Your one and only?”

Scarlett curled her lips faintly. She piled the fragments of the robe together with the other mementos and, without hesitation, pulled out a lighter and set them ablaze.

Instantly, flames leaped toward the sky, dyeing it red.

The servants panicked, but she stood motionless, coldly watching everything that had ever been between her and Zane turn to ash.

Zane, there’s nothing left between us now.

She turned and went back to her room to pack. Halfway through, she suddenly heard someone outside calling her name.

“Scarlett…”
