Lillian had originally intended to request a meeting with Sebastian outright, but that would have made her intentions too obvious and risked causing misunderstandings.

Larry hesitated for a moment before letting out a mocking laugh. He assumed Lillian was simply trying to ingratiate herself with powerful figures.

However, the Whitmore family's status was well known, and it was understandable for people to seek connections with them. If Lillian truly had talent, introducing her to the Whitmore family wouldn't be an issue—provided she won the bet.

"No problem," Larry said with a smile.

Lillian's eyes lit up at his agreement. "Good. Dr. Larry, you may begin."

She didn't care what others thought of her. As long as she could meet Sebastian, that was all that mattered.

Larry picked up his medical kit and walked over to Elena. He checked her pulse, examined her legs, then opened his case and took out a syringe and a vial of medicine.

Simon watched with mixed emotions as Larry administered the injection. He hoped Larry's treatment would work, but at the same time, he worried about Lillian losing the bet.

"This new drug is patented and has shown remarkable clinical results. Don't worry, you'll regain sensation in your legs soon," Larry assured Elena with confidence.

Seeing his certainty, Elena couldn't help but feel a flicker of hope.

"Relax, Simon," James said confidently. "Larry has a great reputation in Kingston. Even the Whitmore family regards him as an honored guest."

Not just anyone could be the Whitmore family's doctor. Earning their respect meant he was truly exceptional.

Everyone waited patiently.

However, ten minutes passed, and there was still no reaction.

"Elena, how do you feel?" Simon crouched in front of her, gently massaging her legs.

Elena shook her head. She still couldn't move them or exert any strength.

"That's strange. This shouldn't be happening," Larry muttered, checking the time. By now, the drug should have taken effect. "Let's wait a little longer."

Another ten minutes passed.

"Still nothing?" A sheen of sweat had formed on Larry's forehead.

"No."

"Dr. Larry, haven't we been waiting long enough?" Lillian said coolly.

Larry's expression darkened. "This... this isn't right."

Lillian shook her head. "I told you, Mrs. Carter's condition cannot be treated with modern medicine."

She stood up, took out a set of silver needles, and walked over to Elena.

Seeing that Larry's treatment had failed, James fell silent and didn't try to stop her.

Lillian swiftly selected a few needles and inserted them into several acupoints on Elena's head. At the same time, she channeled a faint energy into her body.

Elena flinched slightly, her face changing as she felt a momentary discomfort. But then, a strange lightness spread through her head.

Following Lillian's instructions, Simon removed Elena's shoes and rolled up her pant legs. Lillian then inserted needles into her legs and feet with practiced precision. Every movement was smooth and decisive, displaying remarkable skill.

Once the procedure was complete, Lillian sat down nearby and waited.

Larry's face was grim. Watching her technique just now, he had to admit she seemed highly skilled.

Still, he refused to believe she could actually cure Elena. The needles might have looked impressive, but to him, it was all just for show.

He shook his head at the thought.

"This girl is too arrogant," James muttered, trying to comfort Larry. "But I think she's just putting on an act."

Before he could finish, Elena suddenly gasped in surprise. "I think I can feel my legs!"

A warm sensation spread from the soles of her feet, slowly traveling up her legs. She tentatively lifted her foot and realized that she could move it! The numbness was fading.

"Is... is this real? Is she really cured?" Simon grasped Elena's hands in excitement, his face filled with disbelief.

Lillian smiled. "Yes, Mr. Simon. Your wife is fine now. I'll prescribe her some medicine. After taking it for six months, her condition should fully stabilize."

"Excellent! This is wonderful!" Simon was overjoyed. "You truly are worthy of being Mr. Leonard's apprentice! He chose well. To have such medical expertise at such a young age, no wonder your reputation is catching up to his. You may even surpass him one day!"

Lillian remained calm as she picked up a pen and paper to write the prescription.

"How... how is this possible?" Larry stammered, completely stunned. The specialized drug he and his team had painstakingly developed couldn't cure Elena, yet Lillian had done it with just a few silver needles.

It was unbelievable.

"Ms. Harrington, I apologize for my earlier disrespect. I hope you can forgive me," James said, feeling thoroughly humbled. The slap to his ego had been loud and clear.

Larry came forward and bowed deeply to Lillian. Although he was a proud man, he was deeply committed to medicine. And now, he was genuinely convinced. "Ms. Harrington, I apologize. My professional background made me biased against traditional medicine, and I spoke out of turn."

"Dr. Larry, there's no need to apologize," Lillian replied calmly. "Just don't forget the terms of our bet."

Larry might have been arrogant, but he had a genuine respect for medical expertise. Now that he had witnessed Lillian's skill firsthand, he had no excuses. Before leaving, he handed her his business card.

"Of course. Ms. Harrington, whenever you come to Kingston, contact me. I will personally introduce you to the Whitmore family."

He had already decided to take Lillian directly to meet Sebastian himself. However, since Sebastian wasn't in Kingston at the moment, he would leave the arrangements for later.
